Thoughts on classes that teach you nothing... or do they?

We've all done it. Sitting through multiple hours a week of a class that you learn absolutely nothing in. You either can't understand the teacher, the kid sitting next to you has a strange mannerism that inhibits concentration, or the material you're learning is so hard/easy that you've all but given up by the second day of class. You would think that this endless cycle of non-learning would end by the time college comes around... but as a college student myself, I can attest to the fact that these classes will always be around... I'm sitting in one right now. My lack of learning in this class isn't to be blamed on disinterest in the subject, because I am very much interested in theater. It also isn't to be blamed on my lack of trying, although I will admit that I have given up on the idea that I'm going to learn anything from this class at this point. When I was in high school, it was more acceptable to me that some classes would be less than up to par. The fact that I'm sitting in a college classroom thanks to thousands of dollars a year at my parents' expense makes this class way less acceptable, but I figure that as long as I have to sit here for 2 1/2 hours a week, I might as well do something productive. And so this blog is born. Enjoy.
